I.
Terms of Use
By creating an account on Silsila you agree to use the platform honestly, to respect other members, and to not post content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes on someone else's rights.
Your content stays yours. Annotations, comments, requests, and any other text you publish on Silsila remain your intellectual property. By publishing them here, you grant Silsila a worldwide, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and excerpt them as part of operating and promoting the service. You can request deletion of your content at any time (see Privacy below).
Membership is a privilege. Anyone can join as a Reader. The Fellow role is granted by peer nomination and steward review. We may decline, suspend, or revoke accounts that abuse the platform — including impersonation, spam, harassment, or misrepresentation of credentials.
No warranty. Silsila is provided as-is. We do our best to keep the service available and the data accurate, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation or that every recommendation will suit every reader. Use your own judgment.
II.
Privacy
What we collect. Your email address (used for sign-in and account recovery), the display name and optional bio / field-of-expertise / avatar URL you choose, and the content you create on the platform: comments, annotations, follows, saved books, requests for insight, and referrals.
What we don't collect. No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics pixels, no cross-site identifiers. We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
Where it lives. Account data and content are stored in our managed backend (Lovable Cloud), which acts as a data processor on our behalf. Email is sent through standard transactional providers when needed (password reset, verification).
Your rights. You can edit your profile, delete your own comments and annotations, and request full account deletion by emailing us. We aim to action deletion requests within 14 days.
